Associate Marriage and Family Therapist #113110

Legal name: CHANEL SAMANTHA SIMPSON

Supervised by Tiffany Ann Dzioba, PsyD, LMFT #51595

As a humanistic clinician who understands the impact of systemic oppression, I provide a warm and affirming space to youth, adults, couples, and families, especially within the LGBTQ+/Queer community. As a trauma-informed therapist with lived experience of multiple marginalized identities, I know how difficult it can be to navigate healing in a world that lacks space and affirmation for certain identities. I practice from the perspective that the client is the expert, and I integrate DBT, Somatic Experiencing, and mindfulness to support client goals. I believe strongly in the healing power of the therapist/client relationship, together we can explore your underlying needs, deepen your relationships, and deconstruct barriers limiting your potential.

I have extensive experience in chronic illness, disability, ADHD, ASD, Attachment disorders, Sensory processing issues, complex trauma/ CPTSD, Dissociation, Gender dysphoria, sexuality, gender, kink, ability, race, couples conflict, and nontraditional union negotiations. I especially uplift communication to resolve the loss of intimacy, disconnects about sex, nonmonogamy boundaries, and infidelity repair, with the specific motive to increase connection using Imago Therapy approaches. These same approaches have also been helpful to co-parents and families in conflict.

Shay holds a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology and is a Registered Associate Marriage & Family Therapist with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. The services provided by Shay are supervised by Our Clinical Team
