Angela R. Harvey is a dynamic healing justice advocate, licensed social worker, author, and award-winning filmmaker committed to transforming lives through culturally responsive care, community storytelling, and creative expression. With over two decades of experience facilitating mental and emotional wellness for LGBTQ+ communities and people of color, Angela is the author of Poetic Alchemy. This trauma-informed model blends poetry, personal narrative, and self-inquiry to support healing and growth. As a GROWTHologist, she guides individuals in navigating the impacts of untreated trauma, systemic oppression, and emotional despair—empowering them to cultivate resilience, reclaim joy, and thrive on purpose.

Angela’s work aligns deeply with the agency’s mission to expand access to culturally competent mental health care in California. She is the director of the groundbreaking documentary Black Rainbow Love, a poignant film that elevates queer Black voices and affirms the power of authentic representation in healing. Through her roles as speaker, facilitator, and intentional healer, Angela cultivates restorative spaces where boundaries, empathy, and self-regard are practiced as daily acts of liberation. Her commitment to collaborative community care and equitable access to mental health resources continues to inspire and activate change across generations.
