2020 needs to go back in a box?
What really do we call all these emotions?
It's certainly confusing. Most of us would agree: it’s grief.
In fact the 5 stages of grief include: denial & isolation, anger, sadness, bargaining, and acceptance = they all fit?
Well, if it is grief, then we are helpless except to move through it in grace...My hope is that we start with accepting that grief is not a place, but a journey.
Since we have been forced into this journey, let's go through it holding hands? Connected?
The grief journey begs for isolation, deep in our bones. But when we force ourselves to be in community, we may feel the relief of that small break. Even if we think our company sucks-sour-lolly-pops, we CAN put sadness in a box for 2 hours. Try it! According to PsychCentral we can expect to pin-ball-machine around the cycles of grief for an unpredictable amount of time, so why not take intentional breaks together? Lean into connection!
Research also tells us that JoY helps connection feel even better…and common sense predicts that playing together keeps us from talking about the day's trauma?
Here is a list of activities to enjoy in small Zoom Gatherings that will allow us to escape grief while we roll around in joy-filled connection, even if it’s only temporary.
What do YOU Meme
One person “screen shares” an image they have up pulled up on Google, no words attached. Each of the other folks in the group write a captions for that MEME in the “chat” section of Zoom. The owner of the image picks the winner, then that winner “screen shares” the next image. My FAV!

Each person in the group shares something they have never done in the “chat” section. Then, in the “order” of the chat list, the first person who has done NONE of the things on the list wins! Then the next never-have-I-ever list starts a new round. YES, it’s better with tequila shots?
